In what was news to me (see video below) Noah Kahan was here on Wednesday in what was apparently the concert of the summer here in the Twin Cities.
Then the Twin Cities got banana fever this weekend as the Savannah Bananas took over Target Field for three games this weekend.
Target Field in my opinion is the best stadium/arena here in the Twin Cities. When Target Field is sold out, whether for the Twins, a concert, or whatever event it may be, it’s a hard atmosphere to beat. Outdoors, with the Minneapolis skyline in the background, it cannot be beat. Even when it isn’t sold out it’s a fun place to be. I mean, a Target Field beer is a top-10 “beer” in my opinion.
So seeing Target Field sold out this week made me smile. At the same time, it made me kind of sad too. Does anyone remember 2010, when Target Field was in the first year and the Twins were an absolute wagon with players like Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, and Jim Thome? Target Field was sold out for every game, which may have had more to do with it being in it’s first season, but I digress.
Now it’s a ghost town at Target Field even with the Twins in the heat of a postseason chase. And I in no way fault the fans for not going to Twins games after how the Pohlads have run the team the past few years. If you’re one of those fans- I encourage you to click on our “Sell The Team” shirt below and look at getting one for yourself.

But seeing the upper decks and outfield stands full at Target Field this weekend was fun to see, and I sincerely hope the Twins and this fan base get back to a point where that is the norm at Twins games.
Until then- #SellTheTeam
