Welcome to the big leagues Kaelen Culpepper!
The 2024 1st round pick and #2 rated prospect in the Twins farm system homered in his second ever MLB at-bat tonight in Milwaukee. Culpepper hit an 0-2 pitch over the left-center field wall off Brewers pitcher Shane Drohan.
A pretty cool moment for the rookie to say the least. Even cooler, his family was in attendance for his first game and got to see his first MLB hit *and* home run too.
Even more important, the Twins won the game 8-6 and are back to within a game of .500 with a record of 58-59. They’re two games out of the AL Central lead and a half-game back of the last wild card spot.
And who knows? With it sounding like Byron Buxton is going to miss some extended time, maybe Kaelen Culpepper can be the spark this team needs the final two months of the season.
