There it is. As the Twins continued to struggle after the All-Star break, Twins fans have been wondering when we would finally get to see our golden boy, Walker Jenkins.

The bad news. It might be too late. The Twins are 8-15 in the month of August and have fallen back to 4 games out of a wild card spot in the playoff race. Also, seriously what the hell took so long? Jenkins is raking at AAA and we all saw that beautiful display of defense by Keaschall on Wednesday night… woof. (I still love Keaschall he’s just clearly not a big league centerfielder.)

The good news? We get to see our top prospect and one of the best prospects in all of MLB make his debut this weekend. It’s probably not fair to assume a 21-year-old to be the savior for the season, but we really have nothing else to hang onto at this point. On top of that, Jenkins has been on an absolute tear as of late. He’s got 8 homers in his last 15 games. He’s slashing .406/.488/.768 with a 1.256 OPS this month. Those are video game numbers. I don’t think the Twins have had this caliber of a prospect since Buxton, maybe even Joe Mauer. Speaking of Joe Mauer…

What a thing of beauty that swing is. If Jenkins homers in his first game, I have no choice but to believe the Twins are going on a heater and making a run all the way to the World Series. Not to put any pressure on him or anything.

Even if the Twins don’t make the playoffs I still believe there is one positive we can take out of this season. We’re starting to get a glimpse of who the cornerstone players are going to be for this team going fwd. Jenkins, Culpepper, Keaschall, Abel, Prielipp, Festa, etc. That’s not even including the key veterans. Let’s actually play a little game. What will the 2027 lineup be..

  1. Keaschall 2B
  2. Buxton CF
  3. Lewis DH
  4. Jenkins RF
  5. Jeffers C (just pay him you cheap fuckers)
  6. Rhys Hoskins 1B (classic Twins FA move)
  7. Culpepper SS
  8. Lee 3B
  9. Erod LF

Starting Staff

  1. Tarik Skubal (Do you believe in miracles? YES!!)
  2. Pablo Lopez
  3. Joe Ryan (Plz resign)
  4. Taj Bradley
  5. Prielipp/Matthews/Abel

Look at all what’s about to happen because the Twins finally called up Walker Jenkins. I think I see a World Series in our future. Until then, go Twins, go Walker Jenkins, and JUST WIN MN!

You think the Pohlads will pony up the money to sign Skubal?! 🤣🤣🤣 I have a better chance at being the #1 starter for the Twins next year
